Panel 1: Jillian and Taylor sit on barstools in the kitchen, each drinking a glass of water as Becca floats around in the background. Taylor asks: “So how long have you been in America?”
Jillian: “Oh, I’ve been on this continent for over a hundred years now.”
Taylor: “Wow.”
Panel 2: Jillian, looking a bit sheepish: “Honestly, I’m happy you can still recognize me as English. I’ve been feeling very American lately. Sometimes I watch British television just to remember what the English language is supposed to sound like.”
Panel 3: Taylor: “You ever think of going back?”
Jillian: “Sometimes. Europe is... complicated.”
Panel 4: Jillian’s expression is conflicted. “Too many old acquaintances. Some I’d rather not see, and some…”
Panel 5: Jillian’s face falls.
Panel 6: Jillian smiles again, lifting her glass towards Taylor’s. “I’m pleased to be making new ones here though.”
Taylor clinks his glass against hers: “To acquaintances!”
